Some isoperimetric inequalities for stationary random tesselations are discussed. At first, classical results on deterministic tesselations in the Euclidean plane are extended to the case of random tesselations. The author proved e.g., that in the class of all stationary random tesselations with tiles having the same area F (perimeter U) the stationary regular hexagon tesselation has the minimal fibre intensity. As a consequence of a theorem of Davidson concerning an extremal property of tesselations generated by random lines in \(R^ 2\) the author derived that the mean area a and the mean perimeter \(\ell\) of the Poisson polygon fulfil \(\ell^ 2\geq 4\pi a\) (the equality sign holds exactly in the isotropic case). This is an isoperimetric inequality for the random Poisson polygon. Finally, similar problems for stationary hyperplanes in \(R^ d\) and random arrangements of r-flats in \(R^ d\) are considered \((r<d-1)\). In both cases the extremal property of the isotropic processes is obtained. All proofs are omitted.
