Einbettung endlicher metrischer Räume. (Embeddings of finite metric spaces) (Q1097516)

In this work, about the problem of embedding finite-dimensional metric spaces in a known metric space by means if isometric mappings, the following theorem is proved: Every n-dimensional metric space may be embedded by an isometric mapping in the space \(({\mathbb{R}}^ k,d_ m)\), where \(d_ m(x,y)=\max_{i=1,...,k}\{| x_ i-y_ i| \}\), with x,y points of \({\mathbb{R}}^ k\), and moreover \(k\leq n(n-1).\)
