A calculation procedure for turbulent flow in complex geometries (Q1097791)

In the present study, a computation code of a finite-volume method is described for the aforementioned transformed turbulence flow equations in complex geometries and a computation example is also provided. The governing equations, boundary conditions as well as finite volume discretisation are reported fully and clearly. The application of overall methodology has been illustrated to an important problem of crossflow in a heated tube bank. Some details of predicted flow are also presented in the paper. Computation results show us that although numerical accuracy can be obtained, turbulence modelling deficiencies give rise to appreciable discrepancies between the computational results and experimental data.
