This is a continuation of the author's earlier work [part I, ibid. 7, 391-411 (1986; Zbl 0627.76032) and part II, ibid. 7, 557-562 (1986; Zbl 0627.76033); for part IV see this Zbl 0635.76109]. This paper deals with the Chaplygin equations in both isentropic incompressible and compressible fluid flows. The theory of functions of complex variable under the Dirac-Pauli representation is used to solve the equations of motion. It is shown that the paper leads to the solution of general problems. The solution has been expressed in terms of hypergeometric functions. Result are difficult to understand due to lack of adequate physical discussions.
