    The family of solutions of the Dirichlet problem div(\({\mathfrak a}^{\epsilon}\nabla u^{\epsilon})=h\) in \(Q\subset R^ m\), \(u=0\) on \(\partial Q\), where \({\mathfrak a}^{\epsilon}=a^{\epsilon}T\), I is the identity matrix and the function \(a^{\epsilon}\) satisfies \(\nu_ 1\leq a^{\epsilon}(x)\leq \nu_ 2\), is considered. By definition \({\mathfrak a}^{\epsilon}\to^{G}{\mathfrak a}^ 0\) if for any \(h\in L^ 2(Q)\) one has the weak convergence \(u^{\epsilon}\to u^ 0\), \(a^{\epsilon}\nabla u^{\epsilon}\to a^ 0\nabla u^ 0\) in \(H^ 1_ 0(Q)\), \(L^ 2(Q)\), respectively, where div(\({\mathfrak a}^ 0\nabla u^ 0)=h\), \(u\in H^ 1_ 0(Q)\). The author obtains estimates of the following type: \[ -\alpha_ 1+(\lim_{\epsilon \to 0} 1/(a^{\epsilon}+\alpha_ 1))^{-1}\leq (tr({\mathfrak a}^ 0)^{- 1}/m)^{-1}\leq tr {\mathfrak a}^ 0/m\leq -\alpha_ 2+(\lim_{\epsilon \to 0} 1/(a^{\epsilon}+\alpha_ 2))^{-1}, \] where \(\alpha_ i=\nu_ i(m-1)\), \(i=1,2\).
