This work extends to domains of n complex variables some results of \textit{G. D. Levshina} [Mat. Zametki 33, No.5, 350-355 (1983; Zbl 0528.30040)] for domains of one complex variable. Let B denote the unit ball in complex n-space, S its boundary, A(B) the class of functions holomorphic on the interior of B and continuous on S, and \(\phi\) a mapping from the unit interval into the non-negative real numbers which satisfies the usual sort of conditions for a modulus of continuity. The author studies the Lipschitz class \(\Lambda_{\phi}(B)\) of those f in A(B) such that for all real values of \(\theta\), h and all points z in S we have \(| f(\exp (i(\theta +h)z))-f(\exp (i\theta z))| \leq K_{\phi}(| h|)\), where the constant K is independent of \(\theta\), h, and z. He then defines the norm \(\| f\|_{\Lambda_{\phi}}=\sup \{r\leq 1:\) N(r)\(\}\), where \(N(r)=\sup \{| z| =r:| f^{[1]}(z)| (1-| z|)/\phi (1-| z|)\}\), and \(f^{[1]}\) denotes the fractional derivative of f defined in terms of the expansion of f as a series of homogeneous polynomials. With this norm he shows that \(\Lambda_{\phi}(B)\) is a Banach space and singles out for special attention the closed subspace \(\lambda_{\phi}(B)\) of those f such that N(r)\(\to 0\) as \(r\to 1\). He then introduces an inner product (f,g) and characterizes a certain class of linear functionals T(g) as having the form \(T(g)=(g,f)\) for some f in \(\Lambda_{\phi}(B)\). A similar result is established for f in \(\lambda_{\phi}(B)\).
