Motivated by Glimm's celebrated work on postliminal C *-algebras and using his technique, the authors prove in C *-dynamical systems two analogues of Glimm's result: Let G be a compact abelian group with more than one element and let \(\alpha\) be an action of G on a separable C *-algebra A such that the Connes spectrum of \(\alpha\) equals the dual group of G and that A has a faithful covariant irreducible representation. Then for any hyperfinite von Neumann algebra M, there exist a covariant representation \(\pi\) of A and an \({\bar \alpha}\)-invariant projection \(q\in \pi (A)''\), with central support 1, such that \(q\pi\) (A)''q\(\cong M\), where \({\bar \alpha}\) denotes the extension by closure of \(\alpha\) to \(\pi\) (A)''. Furthermore, for some W *-dynamical systems (\({\mathcal M},G,\alpha)\) where \(\alpha\) comes from certain product type action of G on UHF algebra, one can also find q as above such that (q\(\pi\) (A)''q,G,\({\bar \alpha}\)) and (\({\mathcal M},G,\alpha)\) are isomorphic.
