    Let X, Y, Z be normed linear spaces. Let T be a linear operator with the domain \(D(T)\subset X\) and \(R(T)\subset Y\). Denote by dist\((x,N(T))\) the distance from \(x\in D(T)\) to the null space N(T) of T. The lower bound of T is defined by \[ \gamma (T)=\sup \{\gamma: \| Tx\| \geq \gamma dist(x,N(T))\}. \] The main result is the following: Let S be a linear operator from \(Y\subset Z\) and let \(\hat S\) be its restriction to R(T). Suppose that subspaces R(T), R(S) are closed. Then \[ \gamma(ST) \geq \gamma(\hat S)\gamma(T)\;(D(S)=Y). \]
