      The authors study the existence of \(2\pi\)-periodic solutions of the Liénard system with delays \(\tau_ 1,...,\tau_ n\in [0,2\pi):\) \[ x''(t)+d/dt[\text{grad} F(x(t))]+g(t,x_ 1(t-\tau_ 1),...,x_ n(t- \tau_ n))=e(t), \] where \(t\in J=[0,2\pi]\), \(F\in C^ 2(R^ n;R^ n)\), \(g: J\times R^ N\to R^ n\) satisfies Carathéodory conditions and \(e\in L^ 1(J;R^ n)\). Imposing certain growth conditions on the x- dependence of each component \(g_ i\) and g, the authors show that the system has at least one \(2\pi\)-periodic solution. Both nonresonance and resonance conditions are analyzed. The proofs are based on degree arguments and use a Lemma of \textit{J. Mawhin} and \textit{J. R. Ward} jun. [Arch. Math. 41, 337-351 (1983; Zbl 0537.34037)].
