Let E be a compact subset of the complex plane \(\underset \tilde{} C\) such that Leja's extremal function \(L_ E\) for E is continuous. If almost all zeros of the polynomials of best uniform approximation to a function \(f\in C(E)\) are outside the set \(E_ R=\{z\in \underset \tilde{} C:L_ E(z)<R\}\), for some \(R>1\), then f is extendible to a holomorpic function in \(E_ R\). If the zeros of nth polynomial of best approximation to f are outside \(E_{R_ n}\) and the sequence \(\{R_ n^{-n}\}\) rapidly decreases to zero then f can be extended to a \(C^{\infty}\) function on \(\underset \tilde{} R^ 2\).
