The author shows that, given a nonexpansive operator T on \({\mathbb{R}}\) \(N_+\) with \(T0=0\), there exists a natural number p (viz. the least common multiple of \(\{\) 1,2,...,N\(\})\) such that the sequence T \(px,T^{2p}x,T^{3p}x,..\). converges for each \(x\in {\mathbb{R}}\) \(N_+\); moreover, this p is minimal with this property. This result generalizes previus work of \textit{M. A. Akcoglu} and \textit{U. Krengel} [Probab. Theory Related Fields 76, 411-420 (1987; Zbl 0611.60070)].
