Certain findings about the convergence of the ``assumed deviatoric stress-pressure-velocity'' mixed finite element method for steady, convective, incompressible, viscous flow are made. Making an abstract error estimate, it is shown that the same LBB conditions for hybrid finite element method for Stokes flow are also applicable to the afore- said method. The rate of convergence of an unusual term that appears in the estimate, is examined. The author has worked out the theme of the paper, by first applying the same method to single elliptic equations (which are models for convective, incompressible, viscous flows), and then by considering the steady flow case Navier-Stokes equations.
