The author defines fuzzy neighborhood groups to be groups compatible with fuzzy neighborhood spaces as introduced by \textit{R. Lowen} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 7, 165-189 (1982; Zbl 0487.54008)]. Characterization theorems about compatibility and prefilters being neighborhood prefilters of e are proved. Fuzzy uniformizability of fuzzy neighborhood groups is also established.
