Implementation of \(\alpha\)-type multistep methods for stiff differential equations (Q1102076)

The author discusses some results of applying \(\alpha\)-type multistep methods \[ y_{n+k}-\alpha_ ny_{n+k-1}+(\alpha_ n-1)y_{n-k- 2}=h_{n+k}\sum^{k}_{i=0} \beta_ inf_{n-1},\quad 0<\alpha_ n<2 \] in a variable coefficient form to the system of stiff differential equations \(y'=f(x,y)\), \(y(a)=y_ 0\).
