Adaptive control and identification of dynamic plants is considered when the latter are in the form of series-connected linear dynamic loops with extremal delayless elements operating under random disturbances with a spectral density described by a rational fraction function. Minimum variance controllers are designed, and closed-loop identification algorithms are constructed for the plant. The efficiency of the adaptive control algorithms is illustrated by the results of simulation and utilization, in adaptive optimization systems, of fuel burning and vapor condensation processes in power units.
