Let \(\sum a_ n\) be a gap series, i.e., \(a_ n=0\) for \(n\neq k_ 0,k_ 1,..\). where \(\{k_ n\}\) is a given sequence of integers \(0\leq k_ 0<k_ 1,..\). The classical Hardy-Littlewood high indices theorem states that \(\sum a_ n\) is Abel summable to s implies \(\sum^{\infty}_{n=0}a_ n=s\) if \(k_{n+1}\geq ck_ n\) for some \(c>1\). Among the extensions of this theorem is the following: \(\sum a_ n\) is Abel summable to s implies \(\sum a_ n\) is Cesaro summable of order p to s if \(k_{n+p+1}\geq ck_ n\) for some \(c>1\). The authors generalize this result replacing the Abel method by power series methods Q(q) of the class PTR and replacing the Cesaro methods by generalized Cesaro methods built on the same totaly monotone sequence q. The gap condition also depends on the sequence q.
