Consider the \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\)-valued integrodifferential equation \[ x'(t)+\int^{t}_{0}g(t-s,x(s))ds=f(t),\quad t>0;\quad x(0)=x_ 0. \] First the author proves a boundedness result for this equation, and then a result about exponential decay (or exponential approach to a limit) of the solutions. It is assumed throughout that g(t,\(\xi)\) is the gradient with respect to \(\xi\) to a convex function G(t,\(\xi)\), and that g has two derivatives with respect to t. To get exponential decay some additional differential inequalities are needed. The proofs are based on a new Lyapunov functional.
