    The paper deals with the solvability of boundary value problem for a nonlinear parabolic equation with changing time direction \[ u_ t- (\partial /\partial x)w(u_ x)=0,\quad (x,t)\in Q=(0,1)\times (0,T);\quad u|_{t=0}=u_ 0(x),\quad u|_{x=0}=u|_{x=1}=0, \] where \(u_ 0(x)\) and w(\(\xi)\) are given functions. It is assumed, that \(w(\xi)\in C^ 1(R)\), \(| w(\xi)| \to_{| \xi | \to \infty}\infty\); there exist \(\ell_ 1,\ell_ 2\) and a function \(\tilde w(\xi)\in C^ 1(R)\) such that \(\ell_ 1\neq \ell_ 2\), \(w(\ell_ 1)=w(\ell_ 2)=\gamma\); (\(\partial /\partial \xi)w(\xi)\geq 0\), \(\tilde w(\xi)=w(\xi)\), \(\xi{\bar \in}(\ell_ 1,\ell_ 2)\) and the function \(\int^{\xi}_{0}| (\partial /\partial \eta)\tilde w(\eta)| d\eta\) has a continuous inverse.
