Functional powers near a fixed point (Q1104448)

The authors discuss the problem of defining functional powers of non- integral order for an analytic mapping \(z\to F(z)\) in the neighbourhood of a fixed point c at which \(F(c)=c\), \(| F'(c)| >1\). The solution which they obtain is equivalent to that of e.g. \textit{G. Koenigs}, Annales Sci. de l'Ecole Normale Sup., III. Ser. Suppl., 3-41 (1984). See also \textit{G. Szekeres}, Acta Math. 100, 203-258 (1958; Zbl 0145.079). Examples discussed include \(F(z)=e\) z with \(c=0.318132+1.33724 i\).
