The rigid linear maps from a complex linear subalgebra of b(E) (containing 1) to b(F) are characterized. Also, the structure of the zero-reducing linear maps from a subalgebra of \(H^{\infty}(E)\) to \(H^{\infty}(F)\) is investigated.
