In [Long time prediction in dynamics, Lakeway, Tex. 1981, 21-43 (1983)] \textit{B. Misra} and \textit{I. Prigogine} proved that a deterministic measure preserving reversible dynamical system \(T_ t\), represented by the unitary group \(U_ t\) in state space, is a K flow if \(U_ t\) is intertwined after projection by a strongly irreversible Markov semigroup. In the paper under review the necessity of the same conditions is proved. This shows that a deterministic system which admits such an irreversible intertwining will be highly unstable.
