The stability of a new equilibrium configuration possible in a two- dimensional layer of nonisothermal fluid executing high-frequency vibrations in zero gravity is investigated in the framework of the linear theory. A study is made on the basis of the equations of vibrational convection. Instability with respect to one-dimensional and two- dimensional perturbations is studied. An elementary exact solution is obtained for the one-dimensional perturbations.
