The affluence of a society or community may be quantified by the proportion of its rich people and their income distribution. The harmonic income gap ratio and the harmonic Gini coefficient play important roles in the formulation and meaningful interpretation of affluence indexes. The Gastwirth coefficient is also very pertinent in this context. The main objective of the current study is to justify and incorporate these coefficients in the formulation of some robust affluence indexes.
