A real \(n\times n\) matrix A is called completely positive if it can be decomposed as \(A=BB\) T, where B is a non-negative \(n\times k\) matrix. The author surveys results on the general problem of characterization of such matrices in connection with doubly nonnegative matrices, diagonally dominant matrices, copositive matrices the factorization index, some combinatorial problems and doubly stochastic matrices.
