Two-dimensional nonlinear boundary problems: \(\Delta u=0\) in \(\Omega\), \(\partial u/\partial n=-g(x,u)+f(x)\)on \(\partial \Omega\), are studied. The problems are transformed to nonlinear integral equations on the boundary, equations which are Hammerstein integral equations perturbed by a compact operator. Existence and uniqueness of solutions in terms of Sobolev spaces as well as regularity are proved by monotonicity arguments. It is claimed that the results are valid for Caratheodory functions g but the proofs are carried out for the case \(g=g(u)\) only. The numerical BEM Galerkin solution of the problem is analyzed. Convergence is proved and the asymptotic rate of convergence is estimated.
