Bessel type functions involving Dirichlet series (Q1106992)

In a previous paper the authors established general results for a class of ordinary linear differential equations in the complex plane. In particular using arguments due to Cesari they obtained solutions by a process in terms of Dirichlet series. In this paper the authors apply their results to the equation \[ \frac{d\quad 2w}{dz\quad 2}+\frac{dw}{dz}+[\alpha \quad 2\ell^{\alpha z}-\frac{1}{4}(n\quad 2\alpha \quad 2-1)]w=0 \] where \(\alpha =-\log 2\) and n is an arbitrary constant.
