Let \(\Sigma\) be a hypersurface of a p-dimensional Euclidean space E and f a differentiable function on \(E\setminus \Sigma\) such that all derivatives of f have (distributional) boundary values from both sides of \(\Sigma\). The main purpose of the article is to describe the jump of these derivatives by the functions (defined on \(\Sigma)\) that are given by the jumps of the derivatives in the normal direction. In the formulas there are the second, third,... fundamental tensors of \(\Sigma\) and their derivatives involved. Instead of using covariant derivatives for the data on \(\Sigma\) the authors take all derivatives with respect to the coordinates of E. Hence, it is difficult to recover the geometric contents from their formulas.
