Closure relations for orbits on affine symmetric spaces under the action of parabolic subgroups. Intersections of associated orbits (Q1107137)

Let \(H\setminus G\) be an affine symmetric space, where G is a real semisimple Lie group, and H is an open subgroup of the fixed point subgroup of an involutive automorphism of G. Let P be a minimal parabolic subgroup of G, and P' a parabolic subgroup of G, containing P. The main theorem of this paper states several results concerning double cosets in the space \(H\setminus G/P'\), in particular simple criteria for inclusion, or equality of such cosets.
