In 1979, \textit{J. H. Conway} and \textit{S. P. Norton} raised the following question: (*) For each element \(\sigma\) in the Conway group \(.0\), is there an element \(\sigma_ 1\) in the Monster simple group \(M\) whose Thompson series \(t_{\sigma_ 1}\) has a form \(\theta_{\sigma}(z)/\eta_{\sigma}(z)+\text{constant}\)? In this paper, the author completes the answer to the question (*). In particular, he proves that (*) is false for 15 conjugacy classes and the Riemann surface whose function is \(C(\theta_{\sigma}(z)/\eta_{\sigma}(z))\) cannot be realized as \(\Gamma_{\sigma}\setminus H^*\) when (*) is false.
