    The authors are interested in the equilibrium states of the spin-boson model described by the Hamiltonian \[ H=\int dk \epsilon (k)a^+_ ka_ k+\sigma_ 3\int dk \lambda (k)(a^+_ k+a_ k)+\mu \sigma_ 1, \] where \(\int dk \lambda (k)^ 2<\infty\), \(\int dk(\lambda (k)^ 2/\epsilon (k))<\infty\), \(\epsilon\) (k)\(\simeq | k|\). By considering \(\mu \sigma_ 1\) as a perturbation they compute all temperature states. They show that, even for large \(\mu\), the solution is unique for all temperatures and that there exist no spontaneous breaking of the reflection symmetry \(\sigma_ 3\to -\sigma_ 3\) and \(a_ k\to - a_ k\).
