\textit{S.E. Rodabaugh}[Topology Appl. 11, 319--334 (1980; Zbl 0484.54008)] has introduced the concept of \(\alpha\)-Hausdorff fuzzy space which is compatible with \(\alpha\)-compactness [\textit{T.E. Gantner, R.C. Steinlage} and \textit{R.H. Warren}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 62, 547--562 (1978; Zbl 0372.54001)] and \(F\)-continuity [\textit{C.L. Chang}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 24, 182-190 (1968; Zbl 0167.510)]. The authors use the same approach as Rodabaugh to define and study the following notions: a set of \(\alpha\)-separation axioms, \(\alpha\)-almost compact fuzzy space, \(\alpha\)-nearly compact fuzzy space and alpha-continuous mappings. The concept of \(\alpha\)-\(S\)-closed fuzzy space is also introduced.
