The author studies the propagation of analytic (Gevrey) singularities of the solution, in the class of continuable distributions, of a totally characteristic differentiable equation. Such a propagation occurs along the bicharacteristics in the compressed cotangent fibre bundle. The compressed analytic wave front set is characterized by means of boundary values of holomorphic functions which satisfy certain quasitempered growth conditions.
