We consider non-selfadjoint eigenvalue problems \[ \ell (y,\lambda)=\sum^{n}_{i=1}(\sum^{j}_{k=0}p_{kj}(x)y^{(k)})\lambda^{n-j}+ \lambda^ ny=0,\quad U_ v(y)=0\quad (1\leq v\leq n) \] with irregular two-point boundary conditions - this means, that the Green function of the problem can grow exponentially for \(| \lambda | \to \infty\) on every ray in the complex plane. Using asymptotic estimates for the eigenvalues \(\lambda_{\ell}\), and the eigenfunctions \(\phi_{j_ v}\) of the problem we deduce necessary conditions for the uniform convergence and the Abel-summability of the series \(\sum^{r}_{j=1}\sum^{\infty}_{v=1}a_{j_ v}\phi_{j_ v}(x)\) on \([x_ 0,x_ 1]\subset [0,1]\).
