The aim of this paper is to show that from the Atiyah-Bott indices, the lengths and the multiplicities of a closed orbit of the geodesic flow one can compute the Ray-Singer \(\partial\)-torsions \(T_ 0,...,T_ n\) of a compact complex manifold. This indicates that the known connections between torsion and dynamical features of closed orbits continue to hold in the holomorphic category. Corresponding results hold for the \({\bar \partial}\)-torsion of a flat unitary bundle, extending certain formulas of Ray and Singer to the case \(n>1\).
