      A set \(B\subset \exp X\) is called a growth hyperspace if \(\Phi\in B\) and \(M\in \exp X\), \(M\supset \Phi\), all connected components of M intersect with \(\Phi\) imply that \(M\in B\) (in this paper only compact Hausdorff spaces of infinite weight are considered). If we omit the requirement on connected components then B is called an inclusion hyperspace. Certain properties of growth and inclusion hyperspaces were considered by \textit{D. W. Curtis} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 283, 271-283 (1978; Zbl 0344.54009)]. The space of closed inclusion hyperspaces GX is the set of closed in exp X inclusion hyperspaces with the topology induced by exp(exp X). The space of closed growth hyperspaces Gr X is analogously defined. Theorem 1. The following conditions are equivalent: (1) X is a metrizable continuum. (2) GX is homeomorphic to the Hilbert cube Q. Theorem 2. If X is a Peano continuum (a connected, locally connected compact set) then Gr X is homeomorphic to the Hilbert cube Q.
