On \(G_ n(RG)\) for G a finite nilpotent group (Q1111668)

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring, let G be a finite group, and let n be a non-negative integer. The authors state a conjectured formula for the group \(G_ n(RG)\), in terms involving the rational representation theory of G, and prove its validity when G is nilpotent. This extends and complements results in [\textit{D. L. Webb}, Invent. Math. 84, 73-89 (1986; Zbl 0589.55008)]. According to a remark of the authors, the result proved here has been obtained independently in [\textit{D. Webb}, J. Algebra 116, No.2, 457-465 (1988; Zbl 0649.16020)].
