Recently the first author and \textit{M. C. Lopez de Silanes} [Numer. Math. 50, 171-182 (1986; Zbl 0632.65006)] have introduced a class of simple rational splines and their application to monotonic interpolation to monotonic data. The rational B-spline \(R_{m+1},p(x)\) can be defined by using a convolution process and a simple rational function with two parameters m and p. The aim of this paper is to show a recursion relation between \(R_{m,p}(x)\) and \(R_{m+1,p}(x)\) used in the numerical computations of \(R_{m,p}(x)\).
