The author shows that if F is a covariant monomorphic functor of a finite degree preserving intersections and empty set, then for every compact space X for which F(X) is dyadic, X is also a dyadic space. The same is true if ``dyadic'' is replaced by ``continuous image of \(I^{\tau}\)''. In the case \(F=\exp_ n\), the theorem was proved by \textit{L. B. Shapiro} [Proc. 4th Tiraspol Topol. Symp. 1979, 163-164]. The author observed that the theorem does not hold for functors of an infinite degree. That follows from the result of \textit{L. B. Shapiro} [Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 231, 275-278 (1979; Zbl 0364.54013)] which states that the space exp \(D^{\aleph_ 2}\) is not dyadic.
