The author investigates the implementation of an integral equation formulation of potential problems using the boundary element method on the ICL DAP. The numerical quadratures in the contributions to the overall system matrices are calculated in parallel and the rearrangement of the resulting system of equations is conveniently performed using the logical mask facility. They conclude that the DAP is a suitable machine for solving such problems, because a speedup by a factor of 100 is obtained compared to a corresponding sequential code.
