Tensor-product B-spline functions are used to model surfaces with certain desirable shapes. In particular, the surfaces are obtained by controlling the curvature of isoparametric lines for parametric tensor-product spline surfaces. Conditions for curvature control are presented in terms of the B-spline coefficients, allowing the problem to be stated as a constrained optimization problem. An algorithm is given and a full section of interesting test results is included.
