The author considers the quasilinear boundary value problem: \(- y_{xx}+f(x,y)y_ x+g(x,y)=0,\) \(0<x<1\), \(y(0)=b_ 0\), \(y(1)=b_ 1\). A weighted two-sided difference scheme is proposed to approximate the problem. The weights are given according to the magnitude of f. Then monotone iterative methods are derived to solve the resulting nonlinear system. Monotone convergence theorems are given for upper and lower iterative sequences. A computational result is shown, comparing with the full-upwind scheme.
