The Ostrogorski paradox happens when a candidate having taken positions on political issues is elected by a majority of voters (who vote for the candidate with whom they agree on more issues) though, issue by issue, the chosen candidate is majority-dominated. In this note, the author explores the paradox and raises questions about the probability of its occurrence and a connection with cycles in the majority-domination relation over candidates.
