A module structure on certain orbit sets of unimodular rows (Q1115961)

The first result describes the kernel of the Whitehead determinant \(GL_ n(R)\to K_ 1R\), where R is a commutative ring of finite stable rank sr(R) and \(n\geq (sr(R)+2)/2.\) This generalizes a pre-stabilization theorem of Vaserstein. The second result is about a group structure on orbits of unimodular vectors. This is an algebraic analogue of Borsuk's cohomotopy groups.
