For complex smooth surfaces given by \(S_ f=\{[z]\in {\mathbb{C}}P^ 3|\) \(z\in {\mathbb{C}}^ 4\), \(f(z)=0\}\), where f is a homogeneous polynomial in four variables, the author studies the singularities of the projection \(p_ f: X_ f\to {\mathbb{C}}P^{3'}\), where \({\mathbb{C}}P^{3'}\) is the space of complex planes in \({\mathbb{C}}P^ 3\), \(X_ f=\{(a,h)|\) \(h\in {\mathbb{C}}P^{3'}\), \(a\in S_ f\cap h\}\), \(p_ f((a,h))=h\). The main result of the paper is that there exists a nonempty Zariski open subset \(U_ n\) in the space of homogeneous polynomials of degree n in four variables such that for \(f\in U_ n\) the map \(p_ f\) is transversal and multitransversal to all possible Thom-Boardman singularities. In addition, a geometric description of the set \(U_ n\) is given in terms of possible global singularity types of the intersection cuves of \(S_ f\) with planes tangent to it.
