Some properties of many valued fuzzy sets (Q1117226)

A concept of many valued fuzzy sets is introduced to treat more fuzzy problems containing many ambiguities regarding a phenomenon. The many valued fuzzy sets are fully characterized by a multiple membership function which is formulated from many valued quantities of the classical sets. Some fundamental definitions and elementary operations such as a composite join, composite meet, and composite negation for the many valued fuzzy sets and multiple membership functions are also introduced to discuss their algebraic properties. Finally, it is shown that the many valued fuzzy sets have almost the same algebraic structure as ordinary fuzzy sets under the operations proposed in this paper, except for the absorption laws.
