    This paper deals with the study of the Cauchy problem for the linearized Navier-Stokes equations in the case of a rotating motion of a viscous fluid: \[ \frac{\partial \vec v}{\partial t}-\nu \Delta \vec v-[\vec v,{\vec \omega}]+\nabla p=\vec f(t,\vec x),\quad t>0;\quad div \vec v=f_ 4(t,\vec x),\quad t>0;\quad \vec v|_{t=0}=0. \] The constant vector \({\vec \omega}=(0,0,\omega)\) is the angular velocity and the vector product [\(\vec v,{\vec \omega}]\) is the Coriolis acceleration. Two theorems concerning the existence of a solution in the space \[ W^ s_{q,\gamma}(R^*)=\{(u_ 1(t,\vec x),u_ 2(t,\vec x),u_ 3(t,\vec x))| \quad e^{-\gamma t}u_ i(t,\vec x)\in W^ s_ q(R_ 4^+),i=1,2,3;\quad s=(s_ 0,s_ 1,s_ 2,s_ 3)\} \] are given. There are also established necessary conditions for the correctness of the Cauchy problem.
