Many programming languages offer the dynamic storage allocation facility. Currently, the simplest and very fast method of dynamic storage allocation involves blocks of a fixed size. The authors present a generalization of the fixed-size blocks method, which is a little slower than the original one, but still allows allocation and deallocation in a constant and short time.
