An alternate treatment of the pseudo-linearization problem as described by \textit{C. Reboulet} and \textit{C. Champetier} [Int. J. Control 40, 631-638 (1984; Zbl 0568.93007)] is given. In the pseudo-linearization problem one searches for a feedback function and a coordinate change such that the feedback modified system yields the same constant linearized system at a family of operating points. The method presented in this paper is partly based on linear control laws and leads to a more explicit characterization as in the original paper. In particular it is shown that for control systems with either one or two controls the pseudo- linearization problem is ``almost always'' solvable.
