An n-dimensional Finsler space \(F_ n=(M_ n,L)\) equipped with a Finsler metric L(x,y) is called a Wagner space, if there exists a vector field \(s_ i(x)\) such that the connection coefficients \(F^ i_{jk}\) of the Wagner connection \(W\Gamma\) corresponding to \(s_ i\), are functions of position only. Further, if \(s_ i(x)=\partial_ i(s)\), where s is a scalar field, then \(F_ n\) is called an s-Wagner space. \textit{H. Izumi} and \textit{M. Yoshida} [Tensor, New Ser. 32, 219-224 (1978; Zbl 0397.53016); ibid. 40, 215-220 (1983; Zbl 0538.53033)] introduced the notion of perpendicular (p-)scalar curvature in \(F_ n\) and characterized a Finsler space of p-scalar curvature. In the present paper, the author generalizes this notion of p-scalar curvature (denoted by \(W_ p)\) to Wagner spaces and obtains the following result: If a Finsler space \(F_ n\) is an s-Wagner space and of \(W_ p\)-scalar curvature, then the space is conformal to a Berwald space of p-scalar curvature.
