In this short note the proofs of two important theorems in complex analytic geometry are sketched. 1) If X is a compact complex manifold, then the set \({\mathcal M}_ s\) of isomorphism classes of simple holomorphic vector bundles over X carries the structure of a (not necessarily Hausdorff) complex analytic space. This follows from methods of earlier papers of both authors on moduli of polarized Kähler manifolds. This theorem has been generalized by \textit{S. Kosarew} and \textit{Ch. Okonek} [Publ. Res. Inst. Math. Sci. Kyoto Univ. 25 (1989); see also Math. Gottingensis, Schriftennr. Sonderforschungsbereichs Geom. Anal. 10, 35 p. (1987; Zbl 0618.32018)] to the case of simple coherent sheaves on a compact complex space. 2) Initiated by the development in Yang-Mills theory the question of giving a differential geometric construction of moduli spaces of holomorphic bundles became important in the mid 80's. The authors succeeded in proving that a moduli space of Hermite-Einstein structures modulo gauge equivalence exists. Let \(E\to X\) be a complex differentiable vector bundle on the compact complex Kähler manifold X, and let \({\mathcal A}_{HE}\) denote the space of irreducible (unitary) Hermite-Einstein connections on E, acted on by the group \({\mathcal G}=Aut(E)\) of \(C^{\infty}\)-automorphisms of the unitary bundle. It is shown that the quotient space \({\mathcal M}_{HE}={\mathcal A}_{HE}/{\mathcal G}\) has the structure of a Hausdorff complex analytic space and that there is a natural injection \({\mathcal M}_{HE}\to {\mathcal M}_ s\) which is a local isomorphism of the associated real-analytic structures. (A Hermite- Einstein structure defines a holomorphic structure on E.) The proof is based on the methods of \textit{M. Itoh} [Osaka J. Math. 22, 845-862 (1985; Zbl 0546.53042)] and on constructing slices for the \({\mathcal G}\)-action by solutions of differential operators resulting from the covariant derivative. Unfortunately there is no expanded version of this paper, but the proofs indicated are verifiable by common procedures for differential operators on vector bundles. The same result has also been proved independently but by similar methods by \textit{M. Lübke} and \textit{Ch. Okonek} [Math. Ann. 276, 663-674 (1987; Zbl 0609.53009)].
